Wildfire near Highway 46 is 95% contained. How much has burned?
A wildfire burning near Highway 46 in northern San Luis Obispo County was 95% contained as of Sunday morning, according to Cal Fire.
As of 8:05 a.m. Sunday, the Green Fire had burned a total of 243 acres near Harmony, Cal Fire said.
The wildfire was first reported on Friday afternoon at the 6000 block of Highway 46, just east of Cambria.
At the fire’s peak, 2,250 PG&E customers in San Luis Obispo County were without power.
Many were advised by the San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services to be ready to evacuate.
The evacuation warning was lifted Friday evening and power was restored.
Although earlier reports stated the blaze was sparked by downed power lines, Cal Fire said Sunday that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
