SLO was the hottest spot in the entire country on Friday. Here’s how high the mercury got

Weather update

San Luis Obispo was the hottest place in the entire nation on Friday, the National Weather Service said in a social media post early Saturday.

How hot did it get? 106 degrees, in a reading taken at the SLO County Regional Airport.

“With a 106° high temperature at #SanLuisObispo Airport, the site earned the dubious distinction of being the ‘hottest spot in the country,’” the Weather Service said in its post.

The scorching weather came with a heat advisory, which was set to expire at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

What’s ahead in the SLO County forecast?

For those who’ve had their fill of this fall heatwave, the good news is that the temperatures will start to ease Saturday, before very quickly returning to more normal weather for this time of year.

The expected high for Saturday was 94 degrees in San Luis Obispo, before dropping to 80 on Sunday and 71 on Monday, according to the Weather Service.

The North County could still hit triple digits on Saturday, with a high of 100 forecast in Paso Robles, followed by 94 on Sunday and 78 on Monday.
