Housing market update: See how SLO County home prices, listings fell to start 2023
If 2022 was a roller coaster for San Luis Obispo County’s housing market, 2023 appears to have pumped the brakes somewhat.
Mortgage rates appear to be on the rise again after sinking to their lowest point since Aug. 4’s 5.33%, Freddie Mac data showed, overcoming a small dip during January to finish February at 6.64%.
New home listings also entered 2023 with a weak performance in January compared to the previous three years, Redfin data showed, starting 2023 with 203 listings.
The median home price has cooled off to $790,000, a notable drop from last year’s price of $925,000, Redfin data showed.
Here’s a look at where the local market stands as February comes to a close.
