H&M slated to open in downtown SLO in fall
Clothing retailer H&M is planning to open its first San Luis Obispo County location this fall as part of the Chinatown project.
Copeland Properties’ Chinatown project will bring additional retail, apartments and a hotel to downtown San Luis Obispo.
The new, approximately 20,000-square-foot store at 962 Monterey St. will employ a staff of about 30, according to a news release. The San Luis Obispo store will carry collections for ladies, men, children ages 9 to 14 and newborns, along with accessories sections.
There are 73 other H&M stores in California; the closest store is currently located in Santa Barbara.
Hennes & Mauritz AB, commonly referred to as H&M, is an international clothing chain based in Stockholm that specializes in “fashion-forward apparel at affordable prices in a sustainable way,” according to the release. It has 417 locations across the United States, where it employs about 16,000 people.
