The popular outlet, which offers discounts on designer and top-brand goods, opened in the SLO Promenade shopping center on Thursday at 9 a.m.
The grand opening celebration was set to feature snacks, gift card giveaways and more, according to Nordstrom Rack spokesperson Courtney Paphites.
Paphites said the new store features “great brands at great prices and up to 70% off apparel, accessories, and shoes for the whole family.”

“We get new deliveries every week, so customers can find new and exciting products every time they visit Nordstrom Rack with 90% of the same brands available at Nordstrom,” Paphites wrote in an email to The Tribune. Those brands include Levi’s, Madewell, Free People, Longchamp, Rag & Bone, Adidas, New Balance, Sam Edelman and more.
Paphites added the company also partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters to host a “Littles” shopping spree for participating Little Brothers and Sisters and their families.

Meanwhile, a VIP event was held Tuesday afternoon, where dozens of local influencers, media personalities and more were invited to check out the new store and shop its racks.

Nordstrom Rack joins Sprouts, REI, Hobby Lobby and Cost Plus World Market in The Kroenke Group-owned shopping center, which has seen a slew of new tenants in recent years.
Nearby in the Madonna Plaza shopping center, work appears to be close to finishing on the new Tilly’s teen clothing store. The company has not yet released an official opening date for that business.
