A new wine bar just opened in Pismo Beach. Here’s how to raise a glass at its grand opening
Craving some wine and pizza after a long week?
New wine bar, Brix Wine Bar and Bottle Shop, will host a grand opening in Shell Beach on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with local wines and an Earth and Oven pizza truck in front of the business.
Owner Nicholas Carrade — an experienced bartender for over 10 years — said he joined forces with his girlfriend’s parents to open the wine bar next to co-owner Jasi Sotello’s salon Fringe by Jasi & Co.
With a love for local wineries, Brix Wine Bar and Bottle Shop supports small and local wines that are not usually found in a grocery store, according to Sotello.
Brix Wine Bar and Bottle Shop serves small bites and a selection of drinks by the glass and bottle.
The prices range from $12 to $17 to wines by the glass. Beers on draft are $9 and mocktail prices range from $9 to $11. For something to eat, small plates are $5 or $6 while larger ones are $15 and $18.
The wine bar officially opened Oct. 30 and the response from Shell Beach locals has so far been positive, Sotello said.
“It’s just a perfect place to gather,” Sotello said. “I wanted it to be somewhere that locals as well as people that have a love for wine can come, and a place for the community to gather.”
