It’s official, the chicken has flown the coop and is headed north, establishing the fourth Wingstop location in San Luis Obispo County.

Located in Atascadero’s Mission Oaks Center on El Camino Real, the popular chicken restaurant is scheduled to be up and running within the next month, shopping center owner David Nevin, of Marin Mobile, confirmed Monday.

The new Wingstop, located at 2180 El Camino Real, will be the latest tenant of the 7-acre shopping center with neighbors like Subway, Furniture and Mattress For Less, Grocery Outlet, and the now-closed Big Lots store, among others.

This is the fourth Wingstop in SLO County with others at 2425 Golden Hill Road in Paso Robles, 1144 W Branch St. in Arroyo Grande and 3840 Broad St. in San Luis Obispo.

According to the company’s website, Wingstop has 2,300 locations nationwide and offers 12 flavors of classic and boneless chicken wings, tenders and sandwiches.
