This SLO beer festival is turning up the heat with Wingfest
Nothing’s better than beer and chicken wings.
At least, that’s the attitude among organizers of Brews & Bites, which returns Sept. 2 to Mission Plaza in downtown San Luis Obispo. They’re kicking the foodie festival up a notch this year with the inaugural Wingfest.
In addition to locally brewed beer, cider and other beverages, attendees can sample spicy, lip-smacking meat from several Central Coast restaurants. They’ll then get a chance to vote for the best wing in San Luis Obispo County.
Among the businesses pouring at this year’s Brews & Bites are SLO Brew, See Canyon Hard Cider Co. and Paso Robles soda maker Sunshine Bottle Works.
Also in store is live music by bands from the San Luis Obispo area.
Admission to Brews & Bites is free. Beer, cider and wing-tasting packages cost $20 to $50. Tickets went on sale Friday. Proceeds benefit Woods Humane Society.
