Here’s what sold at the 2018 Mid-State Fair Junior Livestock Auction
Animals sold by 4-H and FFA students raised $2.2 million at the 2018 Junior Livestock Auction on Saturday at the California Mid-State Fair, according to unofficial figures from the fair.
Students sold 871 animals, excluding add-on animals.
The unofficial overall totals were up from the 2017 Junior Livestock Auction, which sold 850 animals for more than $2.1 million. The money goes to benefit various agriculture youth groups in San Luis Obispo County.

- 462 hogs sold for $1,011,069
73 steers sold for $431,700
- 85 heifers sold for $382,000
- 86 lambs sold for $323,567
- 53 goats sold for $60,930
- 4 rabbit pens sold for $8,500
- 4 poultry pen sold for $5,600
- 4 turkey pens sold for $6,275
Individual results
- Logan Tucker of Templeton FFA sold the Supreme Champion Heifer for $8,000.
- Carly Wheeler of Santa Lucia 4-H sold the Reserve Supreme Champion Heifer for $10,000 and Supreme Champion Steer for $16,200.
- Braden Wheeler of Santa Lucia 4-H sold the Reserve Supreme Champion Steer for $14,773.
- Kylie Aronsen of Cerro Alto 4-H sold the Supreme Champion Hog for $3,885.
- Eleanor Borba of Atascadero FFA sold the Reserve Supreme Champion Hog for $7,263.
- Rachel Wilkins of Lockwood 4-H sold the Supreme Champion Rabbits for $2,600.
- Robert Feathersone of Atascadero FFA sold the Reserve Supreme Champion Rabbits for $2,400.
- Kendall Savage of Chaparral 4-H sold the Supreme Champion Goat for $2,400.
- Carly Wheeler of Santa Luica 4-H sold the Reseve Supreme Goat for $4,429.
- Aeven Sylvester of Canyon Country 4-H sold Supreme Champion Market Broilers for $2,000 and the Supreme Champion Market Turkey for $1,600.
- Holyn Sylvester of Canyon Country 4-H sold the Reserve Supreme Champion Market Broilers for $1,500.
- Tyler Puentes of Carria Plains 4-H sold the Reserve Supreme Champion Market Turkey for $1,475.
- Kendal Power of Ranchita Canyon 4-H sold the Supreme Champion Lamb for $5,822.
- Paige Autry of Paso Robles FFA sold the Reserve Supreme Champion Lamb for $4,277.50.
