Get ready, coffee fans: This SLO County city is getting another Starbucks drive-thru

Arroyo Grande will soon have a second drive-through Starbucks — so get your rewards cards ready.

A Starbucks spokesperson confirmed to The Tribune on Tuesday that the coffee company plans to open a new location at Oak Park and Branch Street in Arroyo Grande this summer.

“Starbucks is always looking for great location to better meet the needs of our customers,” the spokesperson wrote in an email.

The new store will employ about 30 people and feature a drive-through, according to the spokesperson.

It’ll be the second drive-through Starbucks in the city, and Arroyo Grande’s third overall. The city’s other two Starbucks locations are 1211 E. Grand Ave. and 924 W. Branch St.

The building that will eventually house the new Starbucks is currently under construction in what used to be the parking lot of the Kmart shopping center in Arroyo Grande. That shopping center has undergone a facelift since the big box store closed in 2018.

Grocery Outlet is expected to fill one of the spaces in the new construction, while Planet Fitness and a True Value hardware store are also confirmed to move into the center.
