Santa Maria’s Krispy Kreme is finally ready to open — and giving out free doughnuts
The wait is finally over — Krispy Kreme is set to open its newest location in Santa Maria this month.
According to a news release, the company will hold a grand opening ceremony for its store at 2224 South Bradley Road on Dec. 10.
The new shop is approximately 2,760 square feet, according to the release, and will offer “more than a dozen of Krispy Kreme’s one-of-a-kind doughnuts” including its classic glazed doughnut. It will also feature a drive-through.
“Known for our iconic doughnuts and premium coffee, Krispy Kreme is one of the most beloved sweet treat brands around,” Krispy Kreme president Kurt Kuyper said in the release. “We are excited to expand our footprint in the Santa Maria community and look forward to serving our new neighbors melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts and delicious drinks, morning through night.”
Founded in 1937, Krispy Kreme is headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The company operates about 1,400 retail shops in 33 countries, according to the release.
Krispy Kreme’s Santa Maria location is one of the newest additions to The Crossroads shopping center, located at the intersection of Betteravia and Bradley roads. The Crossroads opened in 1998 and houses national retailers including Home Depot, Walmart, TJ Maxx and Best Buy.
Krispy Kreme will “randomly surprise” 120 customers between Dec. 10 and 15 with a “Celebration Dozen Ticket” that awards the them with a free box of a dozen glazed doughnuts every month for a year.
The new shop will be open 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Its drive-through will be open an hour later, from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.
