SLO Concerts in the Plaza kicks off 30th season. See performers, vendors and more
San Luis Obispo’s Concerts in the Plaza series kicks off on Friday in Mission Plaza, and to celebrate the 30th anniversary, this year’s festivities will include a special extended concert on July 3.
The free live music series, organized by the nonprofit organization Downtown SLO, is the largest free concert event on the Central Coast.
The Groove Collective and Ras Danny will be the first performers of the season, taking the stage at 5 p.m. Friday.
On June 26, Manuel the Band and Colleen Rhatigan are set to perform, and the following week, the 30th Anniversary Festival will run from 2 to 8 p.m. The festival, headlined by Moonshiner Collective, will feature two stages, five bands, vendors and art installations.
The weekly Friday night concerts run through Sept. 4.
Concerts in the Plaza is a family-friendly event where all ages are welcome. Pets are not allowed at the concerts, with the exception of service animals.
While outside food and beverages are allowed, outside alcohol is not. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site, provided by local vendors Firestone-Walker Brewing Company, SLO Cider, Talley Vineyards, Woodstock’s Pizza and Quesadilla Gorilla.
SLO Cider will offer a new Tangerine flavor, crafted in collaboration with Concerts in the Plaza, at the events.
