It’s hard to be a progressive in Paso Robles these days

It’s not easy to be a progressive in Paso Robles these days. I wonder if it’s the Trump effect. I drive my little electric car around town choking on the fumes of the vast majority of big diesel trucks, and feel like I’m carrying coals to Newcastle. I’ve tried for 10 years to grow tomatoes up here, but the summer heat boils the tomatoes in their skins.

I support Bernie Sanders and hope his message can do something for the middle class before we all perish from climate change. So I put my Bernie sticker on my bumper fearing someone would key my car or worse. It was torn off my bumper, and I am grateful no other damage was done to my car. My bumper now sports a Hillary sticker, and I’m expecting my new Bernie sticker next week. While you are depriving me of my right to free speech, will you please not damage my car?
