To maintain peace, we need a strong military

In reply to Chris Knudson’s letter, “Veterans Day should celebrate peace, not wars based on lies.” His letter is based on a progressive’s lie — as if America was responsible for all the war and strife on the planet. For as long as other countries commit genocides, America will be there for a fight, be there for human rights, because Americans are the most compassionate people on this planet.

America’s military will always be one of the strongest on earth because we have so much to protect, and that protection must reach far beyond our borders in today’s world. Does North Korea come to mind?

War is peace. The peace Knudson preaches would bring war to our soil, the likes of which we have never seen or ever would want to see. This is why we maintain a strong military with men and women who are proud to fight for our country.
