The San Miguel man who died following a fight outside a bar Sunday night has been identified as 54-year old Alvaro Jaramillo Medrano.

Officials from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office have not yet released a cause of death for Medrano. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. Autopsy and toxicology results are not expected to be complete for at least six weeks.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the Elkhorn Bar in the 1200 block of Mission Street at 10:44 p.m., according to a news release. Two groups of people were reportedly fighting in front of the bar.

When deputies arrived, they found a man who had been involved in the fight unconscious. Deputies began CPR, and he was taken to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Investigators continue to question those involved, and the investigation remained ongoing Tuesday afternoon.
