A Los Osos resident was arrested after the San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s narcotics unit found cocaine packaged for sale at the Taco Temple restaurant in Morro Bay.
Efrain Herrera Ramirez, 44, was arrested at the restaurant on Wednesday on suspicion of transportation and sales of a controlled substance. Authorities suspect he was dealing drugs out of the kitchen, according to a news release.
After a three-week investigation, the narcotics unit served two search warrants, one at the restaurant in the 2600 block of Main Street, and another at Ramirez’s home in the 2700 block of Clark Valley Road. Deputies found narcotics at Taco Temple and drugs and cash at his home, according to the release.
Sheriff’s spokesman Rob Bryn said Ramirez has a previous conviction for selling narcotics and had been deported. Ramirez remains in San Luis Obispo County Jail with a hold placed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
