Plummer brothers of Cambria take prize at SLO International Film Fest

Local filmmakers of all ages honored Sunday, March 9, at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival included young Cambria filmmakers Kyle and Carlos Plummer. In the Filmmakers of Tomorrow Showcase, open to moviemakers in elementary through high school, the prize for best SLO County film went to the Plummer Brothers for “Touched by Fate.” Kyle Plummer also won best documentary film for “Korea Remembered.”

Cambria students Andres Martinez, Eli Kepins, Diego Leonardo, Ivone DeJesus, and Giovanni Espinoza won best group film for “PacErgy.” Out of the 93 films entered in the showcase, 24 were chosen to be in competition on Sunday and six won awards.

The Plummer Brothers recently posted a 1 minute, 30 second video on YouTube as part of the Teen Video Challenge entry for the “Spark a Reaction” Summer Reading Program.
