Wedding bus catches fire on Cuesta Grade
A black limousine-style bus reportedly on its way to a wedding caught fire at the top of Cuesta Grade Saturday afternoon, shutting down a northbound lane for about a half hour.
The fire was reported at about 3:35 p.m. and started in the engine compartment, Cal Fire Engineer Rusty Parkinson said.
All of the occupants were able to get out of the bus and no injuries were reported, he said. A northbound lane was shut down for about 30 minutes, but reopened at 4:20 p.m., a CHP dispatcher said. The passengers arranged to be picked up so they could attend a wedding in Santa Margarita, according to the dispatcher.
