Fire Safe Garden planted at SLO Botanical Garden
Eva Vigil, volunteer and founder of the Friends of San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden, works on the new Fire Safe Garden in El Chorro Regional Park on Highway 1.
When the Fire Safe Garden opens, it will provide a model of landscape design aimed at protecting life and property from the effects of wildfire.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally open the garden is scheduled to be held at 3 p.m. on May 6.
