Police investigating possible murder-suicide in Atascadero

Law enforcement officials in Atascadero are investigating a suspected murder-suicide involving two victims in their 80s, according to an Atascadero Police Department news release.

About 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Atascadero Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence on the 5400 block of Dulzura Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers discovered two deceased adults inside the home and called detectives to the scene, according to the news release.

Officials from the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office and the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office assisted Atascadero detectives in determining the two deaths were the result of an apparent murder-suicide.

An investigation is ongoing, according to the Atascadero Police Department.
