Pedestrian hit while crossing street in downtown SLO

A pedestrian was hit by a car Sunday morning while crossing the street in downtown San Luis Obispo, said Sgt. Jeff Booth of the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

Around 11:34 a.m., police received a report of the incident. Booth said a car was turning left onto Higuera Street from Broad Street when it hit a pedestrian. He added that it appeared as though the driver didn’t see the pedestrian, and that drugs or alcohol were not a factor.

The pedestrian was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, Booth said.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department, the San Luis Obispo City Fire Department and San Luis Ambulance responded to the incident.
