Car burned in fire near Carrizo Plain

Firefighters responded to a burning car on private property near Carrizo Plain on Sunday afternoon.

The fire, which began around 2:30 p.m. at Alleghany Road and Arrow Bear Trail, was quickly contained to one vehicle and nearby rubble, Cal Fire spokesman David Kay said. No one was believed to be inside of the vehicle.

Two fire engines, a dozer and a battalion chief responded to the fire, Kay said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Estimated costs of damage from the fire were unavailable.
