State Parks and the Central Coast State Parks Association have raised more than $230,000 to renovate the home and install historical exhibits.

As part of the effort, staff and docents discovered that many of those who lived in the area in the early 1900s were from Portugal, some specifically from the Azores.

On Saturday, the house will host a celebration of Azorean history from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Azorean community is asked to bring photos, recipes, stories and items for use in a historical display about the Azorean ranch hands who worked there.
