Marta Peluso, Arts Obispo's executive director, to resign at end of May

Marta Peluso is stepping down as executive director of Arts Obispo, the San Luis Obispo County Arts Council.

Peluso, who originally took the position in January 2006, plans to resign from the prominent nonprofit organization at the end of May.

During her tenure, she’s overseen the adoption of the Arts Obispo name and logo and the creation of Arts Space Obispo, the group’s gallery in downtown San Luis Obispo. The organization also coordinates the countywide Poetry Out Loud competition and the Open Studios Art Tour, which features more than 200 artists throughout the county.

“All of us at Arts Obispo greatly appreciate Marta’s leadership,” said Mary Kay Harrington, who heads the Arts Obispo board of directors. “Marta leaves the organization in a much stronger position, and the board is ready to guide its next steps.”
