Oil tanker crash blocks all lanes of northbound Hwy. 101 near Goleta
An oil tanker truck flipped onto its side after a Highway 101 collision near Goleta Friday night.
The vehicle was blocking all northbound lanes near the Turnpike Road exit and was leaking oil, so authorities were closing all lanes for cleanup, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A multi-vehicle collision was reported around 9 p.m. Friday, involving a big rig flipped onto its side, according to CHP incident reports.
Caltrans was reportedly responding to the scene to close down the roadway, and hazardous materials personnel were also en route to the scene.
Northbound Highway 101 traffic was planned to be diverted onto Turnpike Road, according to CHP incident reports.
