2 music festivals to debut in Avila Beach

Two new music festivals are coming to Avila Beach in the next few months.

On Aug. 2, the Avila Beach Golf Resort will host the first-ever Rootfire at the Beach, featuring performances by roots reggae acts Tribal Seeds, Stephen “Ragga” Marley, Collie Buddz, Shwayze and The Movement. Also performing is DJ collective Expanders Sound System.

The all-ages, general admission event is presented by California Roots Festival and Otter Productions Inc.

Country musicians Gary Allan and Jon Pardi will headline the inaugural Avila Beach Country Music Festival Backwoods Beach Party, Oct. 4 at the Avila Beach Golf Resort. The all-ages event, which features lawn, table and VIP seating, is presented by Otter Productions.

Tickets for Rootfire at the Beach are $35 in advance, $40 at the door, or, $100 for 21-and-older VIP treatment. A portion of proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Rossi Foundation.
