Demi Lovato to perform in concert at Mid-State Fair
Actress, pop star and former Disney darling Demi Lovato will perform this summer at the California Mid-State Fair, officials announced Thursday.
Lovato, whose hits include “Heart Attack” and “Give Your Heart a Break,” will perform July 20 at the Paso Robles Event Center.
She joins an entertainment lineup that includes pop-rock band Train, country rocker Kid Rock, country groups Lady Antebellum, Florida Georgia Line and Zac Brown Band, and classic rock bands Doobie Brothers, Journey and Steve Miller Band.
As an actress, Lovato is best known for her roles on “Sonny with a Chance” and the “Camp Rock” movies, as well as her stint as a judge on the reality competition “The X Factor.” She’s also the author of the best-selling book “Staying Strong, 365 Days a Year,” which was inspired by her struggles with bipolar disorder, bulimia and drug and alcohol addiction.
Opening for Lovato is the power-pop duo of Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller, known collectively as MKTO. They appeared in the Nickelodeon TV show “Gigantic.”

Also playing at the Chumash Grandstand Arena is Beatles tribute band The Fab Four, which performed at the fair in 2011. Their July 19 concert is free with fair admission.
