WATCH: Pablo Sandoval’s belt breaks in his first at-bat of the season

Embattled Boston Red Sox infielder Pablo Sandoval got his first start of the season Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Good for the former member of the San Francisco Giants, right?

Well, things didn’t exactly go too well, starting with an unfortunate, let’s just say, wardrobe malfunction in his first at-bat, underscoring the weight struggles that have followed him throughout his career.

The 29-year-old would go 0 for 4 for the game, with a throwing error in the second inning, although the Red Sox won 8-4.

After leaving the Giants for a high-priced deal with the Red Sox, weight issues have persisted, resulting in him losing the starting job to Travis Shaw to start the season.
