Prep roundup: SLO High’s Callum Bolger sets school mark in 3,200
San Luis Obispo High’s Callum Bolger finished fourth in the boys 3,200 meters invitational division Saturday night at the Arcadia Invitational, crossing the line in 8 minutes, 51.58 seconds, the fourth-fastest time in the nation this year and a San Luis Obispo High record.
Bolger broke the school mark by six seconds.
Casey Clinger of American Fork was first in 8:50.70.
SWIMMING AND DIVING
Arroyo Grande diving meet
Morro Bay’s Emily Rohach won the girls competition of the Arroyo Grande High diving meet with an overall score of 371, followed by Anna Perry of Arroyo Grande at 345.05.
Shelbee Alvino was third, also of Arroyo Grande, at 332.50 and San Luis Obispo’s Jade Westphal was fourth (311.35) and Sophie Maino was fifth for the Tigers (303.85).
Jackie Estes, also of San Luis Obispo, was sixth (299.15), followed by the Eagles’ Alyssa Shallenberger (294.7).
On the boys side, San Luis Obispo’s Blake Griffith won the competition between three divers with a score of 450.85. Arroyo Grande’s Trevor Quezada was second at 278.30.
Paso Robles at Royal Invitational
The Bearcats finished third and the boys were fifth out of 18 teams at the Simi Valley tournament on Saturday.
Zac Brown won the boys 200 free (1:47.06) and 500 free (4:50.96) in CIF-consideration times. Brown was also on the 400 free relay — with Grant Scheiffele, Nick Cave and Gavin Hughes — that finished second in a CIF-consideration time of 3:26.84.
Kasey Moffitt won the girls 200 free in a CIF-consideration time of 2:01.92. Mackenzie Raymond was second in the 500 free (5:22.82) and Moffitt was third (5:28.57), both CIF-consideration times. Raymond was also second in the 200 free (2:03.97).
Cece Ramirez was second in the girls 100 back (1:06.10), and, along with Moffitt, Raymond and Veronica Ayala, helped the 400 free relay to a second-place finish in a CIF-consideration time of 3:55.30.
