Prep baseball roundup: Arroyo Grande, Mission Prep win games

The Arroyo Grande High baseball team beat South El Monte 17-7 at the Don Lugo Tournament in Riverside, led by Nash Ackerman, who went 2 for 4 with three RBI and a triple. Cameron Hirahara went 4 for 4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.

Mason Alex was 3 for 4 with three runs scored, and Marcos Salto earned the decision, pitching four innings, allowing two runs, striking out five and not walking a batter.

Arroyo Grande (7-3) will play on Friday for third place at 8:30 a.m.

Mission Prep 10, Downey 2

Sage Pera pitched a complete game and struckout nine for the Royals, and had three hits and three RBI from the plate in the San Luis Obispo Tournament.

Marco Ferdinandi and Austin Anderson each had an RBI, and Hunter Lossee added pair of hits for Mission Prep (4-7).
