Prep roundup: Atascadero swipes two wins in Easter Classic Tournament
Atascadero’s Lucas Sprouse did a little bit of everything Tuesday to help the Greyhounds grab two home wins at the Easter Classic Tournament.
In the first game of the day, Sprouse threw five innings and struck out four in a 12-2 win over Crossroads. In game two, the junior went 2-for-3 in a comeback 11-7 win over Ventura.
Atascadero, now 2-1 in the tournament, got its bats rolling in the afternoon against Crossroads. Tysen Delkner led the way on offense with a bases-loaded double to score three runs.
Ventura put up more of a fight, jumping out to a 5-1 lead through three innings before Logan Armstrong came on in relief. Once on the mound, Armstrong limited Ventura to two runs in four innings of work. Spencer Erdman went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Atascadero to help complete the comeback.
Zach Javine was a combined 4-for-5 with two RBI on the day for Atascadero (5-4, 0-2 PAC 8).
Atascadero will face Heritage Christian on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
