Prep sports roundup: Mission Prep splits baseball doubleheader with Greenfield
The Mission Prep baseball team split a doubleheader with Greenfield on Saturday in San Luis Obispo.
The Royals lost the first game 11-7, and won the second game 21-3.
Renn Duncan was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, an RBI and two runs, Hunter Losee was 2 for 4 with a double, an RBI and a run and Robert Crandall was 2 for 4 in the first game.
In the second game, the Royals hit 10 doubles. Matt Bosshardt was 3 for 4 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs, Duncan was 4 for 5 with two doubles, a triple, three RBI and three runs, and Antonio Aiello was 4 for 4 with three doubles, three RBI and two runs.
Bosshardt was the winning pitcher, going five innings while striking out seven.
Mission Prep (3-2) hosts Righetti on Tuesday.
TRACK AND FIELD SLO Throw Down
Arroyo Grande won all four team titles — boys discus, girls discus, boys shot put and girls shot put — at the SLO Throw Down.
The Eagles won based on relay-type scoring that combined the distances of the top four throwers.
Ceecee Devaney of San Luis Obispo won the girls discus with a mark of 126 feet, 4 inches.
