Prep sports roundup: San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay swim teams get wins

The San Luis Obispo High swimming and diving team beat the Paso Robles boys team 199-99 and defeated the girls team 210-104 on Friday.

Galen Penvenne won the 200 individual medley in 2 minutes, 4.33 seconds and the 100 freestyle (48.87) and John Erbstroesser won the 100 butterfly (58.86) and the 100 backstroke (1:01.67).

Zac Brown won the 200 free for Paso Robles in 1:50.96 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.13.

The San Luis Obispo boys improve to 2-2 and 1-1 in the PAC 8.

Anna Petersen won the 200 IM in 2:24.00 and the 100 backstroke (1:04.47) for San Luis Obispo.

Tyra Popovich won the 50 free (26.14) and the 100 free (58.02), and Adelynn Peterson had a CIF consideration time in the 500 free (5:23.80) and won the 100 fly (1:02.12).

The Bearcats were led by freshman Mackenzie Raymond, who won the 200 free in 2:06.09 and was second in the 500 free with a CIF consideration time of 5:25.23.

The Tiger girls remain undefeated on the year, 4-0 overall and 2-0 in league.

Morro Bay 107, Nipomo 69

The Pirates downed the Titans in a Los Padres League meet.

Morro Bay’s Alissa Marvin won the 500 freestyle in a CIF qualifying time of 5:29.35, and won the 200 freestyle in a CIF consideration time of 2:06.40.

Torie White won the 100 butterfly in a CIF consideration time of 1:06.88.

In addition, the 400 free relay team of Kendra Twist, Marvin, Tess Endersby and White shaved four seconds off their CIF consideration time with a win Friday in 4:08.35 for Morro Bay (2-0 LPL).

BOYS TENNIS Arroyo Grande 17, Garces 0

Brett MacDonald swept 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, and the doubles teams only dropped two games for the Eagles (6-2). Arroyo Grande hosts Carpinteria at 2 p.m. on Friday.
