Mission Prep girls basketball team to host state playoff game

One day after a heartbreaking overtime loss in the CIF-Southern Section Division 5AA championship game, the Mission Prep girls basketball team got some good news Sunday: The Royals are the second seed in their region at the CIF-State Girls Basketball Championships.

Mission Prep (21-9) will host a first-round state playoff game Wednesday, when it takes on Minarets (19-6) at 7 p.m.

The Mustangs also lost in their previous game, falling to Caruthers 45-24 in the CIF-Central Section Division 5 championship game March 2.
