Prep baseball: Morro Bay edges out Santa Ynez

The Morro Bay baseball team beat Santa Ynez 2-0, led by Tyler Chivens, who threw a complete game shutout for the Pirates on Tuesday.

Nipomo 8, Santa Maria 6

Carmelo Hernandez was 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI and Austen Paulicano was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI to lead the Titans. Nicholas Robledo threw 6 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts for Nipomo (1-2, 1-0).
