Prep softball: Templeton shuts out Coast Union

The Templeton softball team beat Coast Union 7-0 on Tuesday, allowing only two hits. Ashley Ingle hit a 2-run home run and Sheylyn Coy had a solo home run in the sixth inning to propel the Eagles. Templeton had five hits to the Broncos two.

Coast Union’s Ani Corbet doubled, but was stranded on third, as was Reagan Kniffen, who bunted for a single.

The Broncos (0-3) face Nipomo on Thursday.

Arroyo Grande 14, Nipomo 0

Bailey Killough threw a one-hitter en route to a 14-0 victory for Arroyo Grande. Her no-hitter was broken up in the fourth inning on a single by Nipomo’s Gennae Abatti.

San Marcos 9, San Luis Obispo 4

Natalie Ziegler went 2 for 3 with a pair of singles and two stolen bases in the Tigers’ opener. San Luis Obispo held a 3-0 lead in the second inning after a RBI single by Marissa Piatt in the first and a Campbell Warren RBI single in the second.

San Luis Obispo takes on Santa Maria on Thursday.

Paso Robles 6, Morro Bay 0

Pitcher Hunter Young led Paso Robles to a win over Morro Bay.

Paso Robles’ Brooke Milder led the way on offense, going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and a stolen base. Chloe Kerns and Nikki Raithel added two hits each for the Bearcats.
