Arroyo Grande girls water polo team advances to CIF final

The Arroyo Grande girls water polo team beat Santiago 11-2 in the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs Wednesday.

Sarah Parson and Kate Empey scored three goals, followed by Arden Taylor with two.

Santiago outshot the Eagles 26-23 but only managed two goals thanks to Arroyo Grande’s Emily Sonny, who had 15 saves.

The Eagles (24-7) will prepare for a rematch of last year’s final: They’ll face Martin Luther King, who is 28-7 on the season.

Arroyo Grande won 6-4 last year.
