Arroyo Grande High girls water polo team reaches section semifinals

The Arroyo Grande girls water polo team beat Redondo Union 11-3, led by Taylor Arden’s five goals, in the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 playoffs on Saturday.

Sarah Parson chipped in three more goals, and Taylor York, Amanda Benard and Brittany Winn each had a goal.

Emily Sonny recorded 16 saves.

The Eagles shut out Redondo Union in the third quarter while scoring five goals of their own to increase their lead to 10-2.

Arroyo Grande will play in the semifinals Wednesday aginst Santiago at the William Woollet Aquatic Center in Irvine.
