Prep girls basketball: SLO High defeats St. Joseph 49-35
The San Luis Obispo girls basketball team earned a 49-35 win against St. Joseph on Wednesday.
Stephanie Brenner had 18 points to lead the Tigers.
San Luis Obispo (12-12, 5-8 PAC 8) jumped out to a 15-5 lead in the first quarter.
“We played 32 minutes of basketball on both ends of the floor,” coach Dan Monroe said.
The Tigers wrap up their season on Friday at home against Mission Prep.
Mission Prep 53, Righetti 40
Jennifer Laird led Mission Prep with 19 points to complete a season sweep of first place Righetti.
Jacqueline San Jule added 14 points and Jenna Lee chipped in with 10 for the Royals.
Mission Prep finishes the league season on the road against San Luis Obispo before playoffs begin next week.
Arroyo Grande 63, Atascadero 36
Ashlyn Herlihy scored 27 points, grabbed six rebounds and blocked four shots in her final home game at Arroyo Grande.
Brynn Thoming added 18 points for Arroyo Grande.
The win, along with a Righetti loss, moved Arroyo Grande (17-7, 11-2 PAC 8) into a tie for the PAC 8 lead with the Warriors.
Arroyo Grande finishes the season on the road against St. Joseph.
