Prep roundup: Nipomo High girls basketball team downs Templeton
The Nipomo High girls basketball team beat Templeton 56-39 on Thursday.
Sidney Aguilera had 15 points and six assists, and Kylie Mendez added 14 points and recorded six assists. Kiesa Romero had a double-double for the Titans (13-11, 9-3 Los Padres League), with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Vanessa Davis added nine points and nine rebounds.
Templeton (9-11, 5-7 LPL) was led by Julia Aurignac, who had 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Annie Elterman, who had nine.
Nipomo led 36-35 entering the fourth, after Templeton led 27-25 at the half.
Templeton plays at Cabrillo on Tuesday.

Arroyo Grande at the SoCal Championship
Arroyo Grande split a pair of games at the SoCal Championships on Thursday.
The Eagles beat Coronado 8-4 in their first game as Kate Empey and Brittany Winn each scored two goals. Emily Sonny had 18 saves.
In the second game, the Eagles fell to Division I’s No. 2-ranked team, Laguna Beach, 18-1. Sonny had 13 saves and Arden Taylor had the lone goal.
Arroyo Grande plays Mater Dei, another Division I matchup, at 5 p.m. on Friday.
BOYS SOCCER
Morro Bay 2, Lompoc 1
The Pirates rallied to score two second-half goals to beat Lompoc.
Charlie Codron got Morro Bay on the board on an assist by Seth Wilkie on a corner kick 20 minutes into the second half.
Isaac Manuputy scored the winning goal with 6 minutes left in regulation and was assisted by Leif Besmehn.
The Pirates (5-9-3, 3-7-1 LPL) host Orcutt on Tuesday.

Nipomo 1, Templeton 0
Jenna Lane scored the lone goal in the 35th minute off a cross by Jackie Lopez for the Titans.
Julisa Soto had four saves to preserve the shutout for Nipomo (12-6-1, 8-3-0 LPL), which takes on Santa Maria on Tuesday.
