Prep soccer roundup: San Luis Obispo wins PAC 8 girls title
Madison Johnson scored the game’s only goal on an assist from Genevieve Basich-Pease as the San Luis Obispo High girls soccer team sewed up the PAC 8 title Wednesday.
The Tigers (20-0-1, 12-0 PAC 8) earned their first league title since 2008.
San Luis Obispo travels to Atascadewro on Friday.

Hannah Flickinger scored 32 minutes into the first half, assisted by Serena Ramirez, and Rachel Foley scored 10 minutes into the second half off a corner kick for the Greyhounds (14-3-1, 7-3-1 PAC 8).
Marina Garcia had three saves in goal for Atascadero, which remains in second place behind San Luis Obispo, which the Greyhounds will face Friday.
Arroyo Grande 5, Paso Robles 1
Kate Boller, Demi Wack and Alex Palangi each had goals in the first half for Arroyo Grande.
Shyanne Douglas and Jalyn Schaeffer both recorded goals in the second half for the Eagles (7-3-1 PAC 8).

San Luis Obispo 1, Pioneer Valley 1
The San Luis Obispo boys soccer team tied Pioneer Valley on Wednesday, after trading early goals.
The Tigers gave up a goal in the third minute, but answered four minutes later, when Keith McCarty settled a loose ball in the box and found the corner with his left foot.
San Luis Obispo had a late chance cleared off the line to remain in second place in the PAC 8 standings.
Benji Alonso had seven saves in goal.
Pioneer Valley leads the standings with a record of 9-1-1.
San Luis Obispo (14-3-3, 8-1-2) host Atascadero on Friday.
