Prep roundup: Nipomo downs Orcutt Academy in girls soccer
The Nipomo High girls soccer team beat Orcutt Academy 3-0, behind a brace of goals by Cassidie Crowe on Thursday. Crowe scored a penalty kick in each half and Bella Albano added an unassisted goal.
Julisa Soto had two saves to preserve the shutout for the Titans (11-6-1, 7-3-0 Los Padres League), who take on Morro Bay at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
BOYS SOCCER
Morro Bay 3, Templeton 2
Isaac Manuputy scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Pirates over the Eagles.
Templeton took an early 1-0 lead, but Mauro Salazar assisted on Manuputy’s header to tie the score at 1-1 in the first half.
Manuputy would score again before the half ended, on an assist by Charlie Codron to make it 2-1.
Hugo Artillas scored what proved to be the game-winner for Morro Bay after Templeton scored a late penalty kick in the last minute of the game.
Morro Bay (6-9-2, 4-6-1 LPL) faces Nipomo on Tuesday.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Templeton 47, Morro Bay 31
The Eagles were led by Savannah Spinharney, who scored 15 points and had four steals.
Spinharney was 4 of 6 on 3-pointers.
Julia Aurignac added 11 points, Annie Elterman had 10 and Shelby Sudbrink had nine rebounds and three steals for Templeton (8-10, 4-6 Los Padres League).
The Eagles are at Santa Maria on Tuesday.
