Boys soccer: SLO High takes down Paso Robles 2-1
The San Luis Obispo High boys soccer team overcame a one-goal deficit to beat Paso Robles 2-1 on Wednesday.
The Bearcats scored in the first 10 minutes, but the Tigers responded 15 minutes later when Keith McCarty scored a penalty drawn by Cole Halfman.
Twenty minutes into the second half, San Luis Obispo (12-3, 6-1-1 PAC 8) broke the deadlock after a Halfman header deflected off the post and Brian Finger headed it in.
Benji Alonso had six saves, including a “game-saving” one, according to coach James Boscaro, on a Paso Robles shot from 20 yards out that Alonso tipped over the bar late in the game.
The Tigers play at Arroyo Grande on Friday.
