Prep soccer: Nipomo girls top Santa Ynez 2-1 in overtime

The Nipomo High girls soccer team earned a 2-1 overtime victory over Santa Ynez on Tuesday evening, behind a second overtime period goal by Kim Kollenberg, which was assisted by Cassidie Crowe.

Santa Ynez scored in the first period, and Nipomo tied it in the second when Tatiana Silva scored off an assist by Jackie Lopez.

Julissa Soto had 10 saves in goal for the Titans (10-6-1, 6-3-3 LPL).

Nipomo will host Orcutt Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

BOYS SOCCER: Cabrillo 3, Morro Bay 1

The Pirates got on the board with two minutes remaining when exchange student Jorge Monpesdeoca of Ecuador found Hugo Artilles of Madrid, Spain. 11 different players have now scored for Morro Bay (4-10-2, 1-7-1 LPL) this season.

The Pirates host Templeton on Thursday.
