Prep soccer roundup: San Luis Obispo boys edge Paso Robles for road win

The San Luis Obispo boys soccer team downed Paso Robles 1-0 on Monday in a make-up game of a rainout from two weeks ago.

The score was tied 0-0 at halftime, and then midway through the second half the Tigers scored the game-winner.

Keith McCarty played a corner kick into the box, and freshman Branden Dolezal pounced on a loose ball to punch the ball into the net.

Goalkeeper Benji Alonso had a shutout, making two saves for the Tigers (9-3-2, 3-1-1 PAC 8).

“It was a whole defensive effort in the shutout,” San Luis Obispo coach James Boscaro said. “It was impressive.”

Paso Robles falls to 7-6-4, and 2-3-0 in the PAC 8.

Arroyo Grande 5, Righetti 1

Cate Boller had a hat trick in the first half in the Eagles’ win.

In addition to Boller’s three goals, Grace Neff and Bitty Eschenbach added second-half scores for Arroyo Grande (6-4-3, 3-2 PAC 8)

Goalkeeper Samantha Heinkle made one save in the first half, and Cameryn Olds had two saves in the second half.
