Prep sports roundup: Paso Robles girls shut out St. Joseph in water polo

The Paso Robles High girls water polo team beat St. Joseph 10-0 on Thursday.

Torri Pugh had three goals and Lauren Root added a pair in the victory.

Kelsey Lewis had seven saves in the shutout, her second in as many games for the Bearcats (7-3,1-1 PAC 8).

Paso Robles will compete in the Arroyo Grande Tournament beginning Friday and concluding Saturday.


Templeton 4, Santa Maria 0

Miriam Robles scored a pair or goals and Kathleen Cline and Amanda Bourgault scored a goal apiece in the Eagles’ win.

Templeton improves to 3-7-1 on the year and 2-2 in the Los Padres League.

Morro Bay 1, Nipomo 0

Emily Gacad scored off an Emma Hotaling free kick to break the deadlock for the Pirates.

Fallon Molnar kept a clean sheet in goal for Morro Bay (5-6, 2-2-0 LPL), which plays Lompoc on the road Tuesday.

Nipomo (5-7-2, 0-3-0 LPL) plays a make-up game with Orcutt Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Friday at Pioneer Valley’s practice field.


Nipomo 48, Morro Bay 37

Abby Guiterrez had 14 points and Kylie Mendez scored 12 points for Nipomo.

Sidney Aguilera registered 11 points for the Titans (7-9, 3-1 LPL), who host Templeton on Tuesday.

Templeton 59, Santa Maria 41

Templeton’s Annie Elterman poured in 20 points and Haley Hurdle added 13 points and nine rebounds in the win.

Julia Aurignac racked up 15 rebounds for the Eagles (6-6, 2-2 LPL).
