Atascadero boys soccer falls at St. Joseph 4-2

The Atascadero High School boys soccer team lost 4-2 at St. Joseph on Wednesday — braving cold and rainy conditions in the process.

The Greyhounds (8-3, 0-1) fell behind 2-0 just 17 minutes in the match before Jose Pena’s unassisted goal in the 36th minute cut the deficit in half.

After halftime, Connor Setting booted home Atascadero’s second goal in the 55th minute to knot the score at 2-2. Pena assisted on Setting’s goal.

St. Joseph scored two late goals to pull ahead.

Atascadero is scheduled to play at Mission Prep on Friday, field conditions permitting, Greyhounds head coach JT Camp said.
