Prep girls water polo roundup: Atascadero’s Archibald sets school scoring record

Faith Archibald scored nine goals, and the Atascadero High girls water polo team beat Nipomo 19-7 in a nonleague match Thursday in Nipomo.

Archibald set a school record, coach Jon Conrad said.

Jessica Diercks scored three goals, and Isabella Bischel and Kyah Pomie added two apiece for the Greyhounds (5-6).

Goalie Tina Bell made four saves for Atascadero.

The Greyhounds host Morro Bay on Thursday.

Arroyo Grande 11, Northwood 2; Arroyo Grande 14, Oceanview 3

Arroyo Grande won both games at the El Niño Tournament behind Sarah Parsons, who had 10 goals on the day.

Isabella Solis had five goals and Kate Empey scored four goals for the Eagles (2-0).

Arroyo Grande will play Saturday in the semifinals against third-seeded Mira Costa at 3 p.m.

Cabrillo 18, San Luis Obispo 3

Mikayla Saccinto had two goals and Autumn Saccinto added another for the Tigers.

Rachel Lovato had three saves for San Luis Obispo, who play at Righetti on Tuesday.
