Prep soccer roundup: Atascadero High boys defeats Morro Bay 4-2

The Atascadero boys soccer team beat Morro Bay 4-2 on Tuesday. Alex Marca had two goals, and Connor Setting and Scott Mello each added a goal for the Greyhounds. Carson Setting had six saves in goal for Atascadero, who play Orcutt Academy at home Thursday.

Isaac Manuputy had two goals and exchange student Leis Bemehn added an assist for the Pirates. Bemehn also had a penalty kick go off the goal post late in the game. Morro Bay travels to take on Coast Union on Thursday.

San Luis Obispo 3, Lompoc 0

The Tigers shut out Lompoc behind Benji Alonso’s three saves. Brian Finger had a pair of goals and Jake Maino added another for San Luis Obispo, who host Santa Maria on Thursday.

Coast Union 2, Templeton 1

Jose Abitia scored what proved to be the game-winner for the Broncos in their opener. Juan Carlos Hernandez added a goal and Roberto Quintero had four saves for Coast Union.

Prep Girls Soccer

Santa Ynez 3, Arroyo Grande 2

The Eagles couldn’t come all the way back from a 3-1 deficit. Elizabeth Eschenbach had a goal assisted by Josphine Graeber, who added another goal later for Arroyo Grande. The Eagles will travel to Lompoc to face Camarillo on Thursday.
