Arroyo Grande clinches PAC 5 football title with rout of San Luis Obispo
The Arroyo Grande High football team clinched the PAC 5 title outright with a 47-14 win over San Luis Obispo on Friday night.
The Eagles (9-1, 4-0 PAC 5) led 28-0 after the first quarter as quarterback Sawyer May threw three touchdown passes. May finished 14-of-20 passing for 225 yards and four touchdowns.
Alex Cecchi had a team-high five catches for 79 yards and caught two touchdown passes. He added 47 yards rushing and a score, and also had an interception and a fumble recovery for Arroyo Grande.
Bradley Mickey had two catches for 64 yards and a score, and had an interception — his fifth of the season — that he returned for a touchdown. Matt Sill had three catches for 27 yards and a score.
Quinton Beaumont led the Eagles with 79 yards rushing on seven carries, and he scored a touchdown.
The Eagles will learn their playoff matchup Sunday when the CIF-Southern Section releases its playoff pairings. It’s likely the Eagles will be the Northern Division’s No. 2 seed, behind undefeated Camarillo.
